Jennifer Faber is registered with the South African Institute of Tax Practitioners as a Master Tax Practitioner, having commenced her tax career in 2000. She has been an admitted attorney since 2002 and is one of the founding partners of the firm. Jennifer specialises in tax litigation, in the form of objections and appeals as well as Alternative Dispute Resolution in respect of income tax assessments, many of which have been resolved in the taxpayers’s favour, pursuant to Special Income Tax court hearings. She also advises extensively on tax compliance issues and the structuring of commercial transactions to maximise efficiency from a tax perspective. Jennifer also specialises in property and related transactions.

Obtained his LLB, with distinction, in 1994 and was thereafter admitted as an attorney in 1997. He built up a successful commercial litigation practice in the litigation department of a Sandton law firm, specialising in shareholder disputes, general contractual disputes, banking law, aviation law, lease and property disputes, construction law and competition law. He has successfully represented a number of blue chip clients in major civil disputes in the High Court of South Africa and other fora. In 2011, Diaan decided to spread his wings and as a result joined the firm in March of that year to head up the litigation department of the firm.

Matthew Nicholls obtained his LLB degree in 2010 and was successfully admitted as an attorney in 2013. Matthew also completed the requirements for his Higher Diploma in Tax and he submitted a dissertation on simulated transactions which he passed with distinction. Matthew is also a registered tax practitioner with the South African Institute for Tax Practitioners. He has worked extensively with Jennifer Faber since 2009 and specialises in tax litigation, tax administrative disputes and complaints, commercial litigation, administration of deceased estates and estate planning. Matthew has been appointed director of the firm as from March 2017.

Stephanie obtained her BCom LLB in 2016 from the University of Pretoria. She is also a proud member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. Stephanie was admitted as an attorney in 2019 and has gained experience in a number of legal areas, including tax litigation and dispute resolution, commercial litigation, conveyancing, family law and estate planning and deceased estates under the guidance of the directors. She is a committed and hard-working member of the FGEA team.

Nicholas McLaughlin obtained his BA LLB in 2019 from Stellenbosch University and joined the firm in April 2021 as a candidate attorney. Since then, he has gained experience and insight into various aspects of law, with a particular emphasis on commercial litigation and the administration of deceased estates. Nicholas looks forward to being admitted as an attorney in early 2023.
